Life settlements can generate a lucrative revenue stream for intermediaries such as insurance agents, investment brokers and financial planners. The process of submitting a case is very straightforward. The following information is gathered and sent to Legacy Benefits enabling us to determine whether or not your client is a candidate for a life settlement:
- Medical Records. We require the insured person’s complete medical records covering the past two years. All doctors and health care facilities must be contacted. There are companies which provide this service for a fee. Please contact us for the names of these companies.
- In-force Illustration. An in-force illustration is a summary of the financial characteristics of an insurance policy. This document must be obtained from the issuing insurance company.
- Application. An application for settlement must be completed by the seller and/or insured.
- Medical Information Release. A HIPPA-compliant medical information release form must be signed by the insured.
- Life Insurance Information Release. A life insurance information release form must be signed by the policy owner(s).
